Mission And Vision

The primary goal of the Sooranad North Grama Panchayat in the Kollam district is to achieve citizen-centric and sustainable development. The panchayat functions in accordance with the general guidelines and decentralized planning processes of the Local Self Government Department (LSGD) of Kerala.

  • Efficient Public Services: Deliver panchayat-level services, certificates, and welfare benefits transparently and within strict timeframes.

  • Poverty Alleviation: Provide housing for the homeless through the LIFE Mission and generate employment opportunities via the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS).

  • Waste Management: Ensure scientific non-biodegradable waste collection and processing through the 'Haritha Karma Sena' as part of the 'Malinyamuktha Navakeralam' (Waste-Free New Kerala) initiative.

  • Agriculture & Production: Support farmers through initiatives like 'Subhiksha Keralam' to eliminate fallow land and ensure local food security.
